Why radiusing exists

We believe most people care about where they live. They pick up litter, water the planters, check on neighbours. But it can feel like you're the only one doing it.

Radiusing makes that invisible work visible. Enter your postcode, tell us what you do, and your area lights up on the map. The more people pledge, the warmer it glows. It's proof that your neighbourhood cares.

How it works

  1. Enter your postcode We validate it's real, then map it to your postcode district (e.g. SE15, M1). We never store your full postcode.
  2. Pick what you do Choose from activities like litter picking, gardening, or just caring about your area. Totally optional.
  3. Your area lights up Your postcode district fills in on the map. More people in an area = deeper colour. That's it.

Privacy

Radiusing is designed to be anonymous. We don't collect your name, email, or any personal information. Your full postcode is never stored — we only keep a one-way hash (for duplicate prevention) and your postcode district. There are no accounts, no tracking, no cookies beyond what's needed to prevent bots.

The map shows entire postcode districts, not individual addresses. You can't tell where a specific person lives — only that people in an area care.

FAQ

Can I pledge more than one postcode?
Each postcode can only pledge once, but you can pledge for different postcodes if you look after more than one area.
What happens to my data?
We store a hash of your postcode (so the same postcode can't pledge twice), which district you're in, and which activities you selected. Nothing else.
Can councils or community groups use this?
Yes — if you're a council, housing association, or community group and want to use radiusing data or embed it on your site, get in touch.
How is Radiusing funded?
Radiusing is a community project. It runs on free infrastructure and goodwill. If you'd like to help keep it going, you can support us via donations.
I run a local business — can I sponsor my area?
We're exploring local sponsorships where businesses can support their postcode district. Get in touch if you're interested.
Is the code open source?
Yes. Radiusing is open source and built with SvelteKit, MapLibre, and a lot of care.
